Rules!

CAGEMATCH is a competition between two teams, each given 25-minutes to perform a longform improv set (which means they make everything up on the spot). The winner of the CAGEMATCH is determined by audience secret ballot, the result of which is announced at the end of the show.

To be considered a CAGEMATCH team you must have at least 1 performer, but there is maximum size for a team.

At the start of the CAGEMATCH representatives from both teams will take the stage for a game of Paper, Rock Scissors adjudicated by the MC for the evening. The winning team will chose to go either first or second.

Time will be kept by a countdown clock on stage, set to 25 minutes and started when the performers take the stage. Teams can chose to end their show early, but will be blacked out when the clock reaches zero. The audience is encouraged to shout down the last 10 seconds on the clock.

Immediately after the first team leaves the stage the second will enter and the clock will start again.

At the conclusion of the second teams performance the audience will have 5 minutes to cast their votes and place them in the ballot box on stage. Immediately after the voting period elapses the MC wil count the votes from the stage with both teams present. The winner will be the team receiving more votes. The winning team returns to CAGEMATCH the following month. In the case of a tie, both teams will return the following month.
